| George Michael denies split rumours | | | | IJS STAFF WRITER 2009-10-07 | | London:Grammy Award-winning singer George Michael has hit back at claims that his 13-year-old relationship with lover Kenny Goss is over.
He branded reports stating that the pair secretly split at Christmas last year 'a complete fabrication,' Dailymail online reported.
It had been claimed Goss had called off the relationship after growing tired of the Careless Whisper singer's promiscuous behaviour and heavy drug use.
An incident which saw singer charged with drug possession after being arrested in public toilets on Hampstead Heath last year was cited as the last straw.
But a spokesperson for Michael has quashed the rumours stating, "There is no truth in the matter at all. Kenny has been away in Dallas where he owns a gallery but is scheduled to return home this Friday. They are planning a lovely weekend together."
The pair were last seen in public here in February. The singer, 46, has insisted in the past that he had an open relationship with Goss, 50.
"Gay relationships are a bit different. I'm sure we'll be\ allowed to roam if we want to. But we love each other dearly," Michael had earlier said.
Michael has often been caught out for erratic, drug-induced antics during the course of their relationship, which began in 1996. | |
